Grace Lamsam Annual Charity Auction
FAQs
What is the PLS Charity Auction?
The PLS Charity Auction is the largest student-run philanthropic event within the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. It has become a Pitt Pharmacy tradition that involves the entire Pitt Pharmacy community - students, staff, faculty, and alumni alike! Items or unique experiences such as opportunities to go to dinner with faculty or a potluck with students are donated and auctioned off. All proceeds from the auction go towards the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved.
What is the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved?
Founded in 1995, the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved (GLPP) strives to reduce healthcare disparities in Pittsburgh, improve patient lives and healthcare outcomes, reduce unnecessary hospital visits, and operates under the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. GLPP helps provide pharmacy services to homeless and low-income individuals at several free clinics, homeless shelters, and drop-in centers throughout Pittsburgh. Volunteer pharmacists and students work within interprofessional teams of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to offer high-quality care to vulnerable patients. Services include providing low-cost medications or medical supplies, medication management counseling, and chronic disease management.
The Grace Lamsam Program also seeks to help students develop cultural sensitivity skills. The program hosts the only residency program specifically designed to train pharmacists to work in limited resources settings both locally and globally.
Why should I attend?
The Auction provides a unique opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences and spend time with Pitt Pharmacy staff, faculty, and alumni! You won't find these opportunities anywhere else! It's a great way to get to know each other outside the classroom and network!

Most of all, you would be supporting a great cause - the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program (GLPP). GLPP ensures crucial pharmacy services to underserved patients. With support, GLPP will be able to provide a positive impact on the Pittsburgh community.
